Falcons News · Message From The Athletic Department

Statement from the Jensen Beach Athletic Department:
We are thrilled to be able to share our passion and love for Jensen Beach High School Athletics with all the #FalconFanatics out there. We will continue to make decisions based on the advice from our state and local health departments, risk management, our superintendent, school board and FHSAA. Our decisions will appropriately coincide with our school and district’s mission and vision for academic excellence. The safety of our students, staff and our overall community will always be our top priority! We are pleased with the protocols we have put in place and have been shared via the district and other media sites. We are also pleased with how we have been able to provide a safe athletic environment to our student-athletes since the start of school. That being said all Fall Sports will begin regular competitions beginning the week of 9/8/2020. The Treasure Lake Conference Athletic Directors have worked for several months together with this week at the center of all the thoughtful planning. Good Luck to all the other TLC programs and know that while we are competitors on game day we still root for you all to have a safe, health, and successful season.   Along with the Athletic Directors from the TLC the three local (Martin County) athletic directors (Mark Cowles –MCHS AD, Ed Geiger –SFHS AD and I) have been meeting continuously with district admin, risk management, and our own schools administrative teams since the spring to share information on the impact of COVID-19 on each of campus, our local communities and in the world of High School athletics. Our district has recommended minimum standards for each of its member schools to follow as fall sports return. Among those recommendations are:

  1. Temperature checks for indoor spectators, coaches, referees, and all other participants
  2. Daily Coivd- 19 questionnaire.
  3. Social distancing by spectators.
  4. Mask worn by spectators.
  5. Protocols for cleaning and disinfecting competition areas and equipment.
  6. No same day ticket sales.

We will continue to follow the procedures that has been in place for months and have served us well and we understand the need to stay flexible and be prepared to adjust as medical information continues to evolve the way we participate in athletics.

Please visit each fall sports tab for schedule information and stay posted for more information regarding FALL sports and Go Falcons!
